Chilli Willi Winter Festival is on this week in Springhill. Today check out the Springhill Elementary Schools Graffiti On the Ice, and  the Chilli Willi Family Skate from 6-8. Tomorrow the Chilli Willi Soup Luncheon from 11-1 at the Baptist Church and the Coffee House 6-9 in the CIBC Community Room at the Community Center. Admission is a non-perishable item for the Ross Anderson PharmaChoice Teen Center Pantry. For details on the Festival, check the Springhill Recreation facebook page.

As part of African Heritage Month, there will be a Roast Beef and Roast Turkey Dinner, Thur Feb 21, starting at 6 at the Community Credit Union Business Innovation Center. There will also be entertainment and guest speaker Jason McLean, NSGEU President. Tickets for “And Still I Rise” are $15, advance only, and available at CANSA, and only 125 are available. For more information, call 902-661-1509. Proceeds are for CANSA’s annual scholarships.

There’s a Legion Luncheon Friday 11-1 at the Sackville Legion. They will be serving beef stew and rolls, with assorted cupcakes. The cost is $10.

After 68 years of hard work, George Jorgensen is retiring. You’re invited to join him in celebrating the milestone, Friday Feb 22 from 2-4 in the conference room at the Community Credit Union Business innovation Center. Join Sackville Fire Service for breakfast Saturday at the fire hall from 7-11. Pancakes, sausages, beans and more. $8 for adults and $5 for those under 8.  

The Amherst 50 Plus Club’s Flea Market is Sat Feb 23 from 9-1 at their hall on Croft Street. New and used items will be for sale, Vendor tables cost $10. Call 902-694-0428 to reserve yours. And the kitchen will be open from 10-1 for lunch.  

The 110th Fireman’s Winter Carnival is Saturday night at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Center. Grab your skates and your best costume, and join the men and women of Sackville Fire and Rescue for a fun night amazing prizes. This year’s theme is Winter Wonderland. Doors open at 6 and the cost is 50 cents. Skating music will be provided by the Sackville Citizens Band.
