Doggy Spa Day
Carma Amherst and Our Pack Animal Rescue are holding a Doggy Spa Day at Pet Valu Saturday from 11-4. For a minimum $20 donation, get you pet all spruced up for Valentine’s Day, with a wash, brush, and nail trim plus a photo. All proceeds to rescues.

There’s a Church Supper Saturday 4-6 at Wesley St. Matthew’s United Church, Pugwash. They will be serving, Meat Loaf, Potato Scallop, Beans & Brown Bread. The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for ages 5-12 and free for those 5 and under. Proceeds for Church Expenses.

The Amherst 50+ Club is hosting a Valentine Dance, Saturday Feb. 9 from 8-10:30. Jerry Metz and Lost Highway will be playing. Admission is a donation at the door. There will be a 50/50 draw during intermission, and a light lunch after the dance. Anyone 50 and older is welcome to attend.

VON Cumberland’s 12th Annual Beat the Winter Blues Fundraiser and Valentine Dance is Sat Feb 9, 9-1 at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Freefall will be playing. Tickets cost $10 and are available at the VON office or at the door. Make sure you make a bid for 2 round trip tickets to anywhere WestJet flies. There will also be a silent auction, raffle tickets, door prizes and a 50/50.Proceeds support VON’s charitable Programs.

During Climate Change Week at Mount Allison, you are invited to a screening of From Seed To Seed, Tuesday Feb 12 from 7-10 at the Wu Center, in the Dunn Building. It’s a feature-length documentary film by Katharina Stieffenhofer about ecological farming in a changing climate and a farming family filled with hope for the future in the Canadian prairies. The Screening will be followed by a 30min Q&A between audience members and local farmers.
