Nova Scotia Heritage Day-Aboriginals

Aboriginal elders and spiritual leaders, will assist the Joggins Fossil Centre in celebrating Nova Scotia Heritage Day on Mon Feb 20. beginning at 11:00 a.m. For Canada’s 150th Anniversary Heritage Day 2017 celebrates the Mi’kmaq culture and the many accomplishments of the Mi’kmaq people. Emile Gautreau and Louise Goodwin will present a ceremony to the 7 directions, speak about aboriginal peoples from across Canada and create music with clapping sticks and drums. This Heritage Day event is free, and starts at 11 and is part of the Community Coffee Break series offered by the Joggins Fossil Centre. Refreshments will be served.
