Victorian Christmas in Amherst

Saturday is Victorian Christmas in Amherst. From 10-5 enjoy the wonderful sights, sounds, and scents of a traditional Christmas in downtown Amherst with costumed carolers, horse-drawn wagon tours, and a Victorian photo booth at Focal Point Photography and Framing. East Coast Carolling will be downtown from 10:30 - 1:30. The real Santa Claus will be at Dayle's Grand Market from 10:00 to noon. Create a Birch Bark Wreath

Roger Bacon’s Book Launch is Saturday at 2 at Coles Bookstore in the Amherst Center. Me And My Team, From Farmer to Premier was written by Morris Haugg as told to him by Roger Bacon. There will be a book signing with Bacon and Haugg til 4. After that a limited number of copies will be available at Coles.

Christmas Carol Sing

Christmas Casino Night

The Joggins Improvement Committee is sponsoring a Christmas Casino Night, Sat Dec 15 from 8-11 at the Joggins Legion. The cost is $20 at the door. Your ticket gives you chips to play various games. Holy Family Parish – Christmas Concert

Holy Family Parish is holding a Christmas Concert Sunday Dec 16 from 2-4. There will be a youth presentation, A Christmas to Believe In, and music from the church choir and the M&M Youth choir. A Child’s Christmas in Wales

The Trinity St Stephens Choir, guest musicians and CBC personality John Hancock present A Child’s Christmas in Wales, Sunday at 4 at Trinity St Stephen’s United Church. There is no admission, by a freewill offering will be taken to support the food bank and Trinity’s fund to assist the needy.

Public Hearing-Cannabis-Related Uses

Amherst Town Council is considering amending the Land-Use Bylaw for cannabis-related uses. The draft amendments would create definitions for cannabis retail, cannabis consumption lounges, and define where federally licensed production facilities may locate. A public hearing on this matter will be held on Monday at 6:30 in Town Hall Council Chambers. Council will hear submissions in support or opposition.
