Back To School Supplies pick up is this week. In Amherst pick up is at Maggie’s Place on Elmwood Drive 9-4 til Thursday and 9-noon on Friday. In partnership with Cumberland Public Libraries, filled backpacks will be available at library branches throughout Cumberland County, except Amherst, during their regular open hours til Friday.

The Cumberland County Exhibition is celebrating it’s 100th Anniversary this year. It’s Aug 27-Sept 1 in Oxford.The exhibition continues to be one of the largest cattle shows in the Maritimes, and a showcase for local 4H clubs. The Town of Amherst will host an open house at Town Hall at 98 Victoria Street East Thursday afternoon between 4 and 6 to provide information on Phase 1 of the Willow Street infrastructure renewal project. Masonic Breakfast
The Amherst Masons are serving breakfast this Saturday morning from 7:30-10:30 at their Temple on Lawrence Street. Blueberry pancakes and sausages .. $6 for adults and $4 for children under 12. The Amherst Masonic Temple is wheelchair accessible.
