Tennis Nova Scotia is presenting a youth Rogers Rookie Tour, Monday Aug 13 from 11-1 at Lions Park Tennis Court. Players must be able to sustain a basic rally. Registration fee is $5 and tennis rackets will be provided.  In the evening Tennis NS will be leading high energy games for adults from 6-8. Canadian Grand Master Fiddle Champ Scott Woods, will be Fiddling Up A Storm, Wed Aug 15 at 7 at St Andrews Wesley United Church in Springhill. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children, and available at PharmaChoice and Guardian Drugs in Springhill.

Maggie's Place, in partnership with the Amherst Police Department and the Atlantic Superstore will be holding a "Stuff a Car" School Supply Drive on Friday, August 17th from 10am-5:30pm at the Atlantic Superstore. Donations will go directly to helping children and youth of Cumberland County access FREE school supplies. The 53rd Nova Scotia Gem and Mineral Show is Fri-Sun Aug 17-19 from 10-5 at the Parrsboro Recreation Center. There will be over 30 vendors, with thousands of gems, minerals, fossils and artisan metalwork. More details at nsgemshow on facebook
