The Amherst and Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to join them to hear from the elected representatives from the Town of Amherst, the Municipality of Cumberland, the Province and Federal levels of government. Mayor David Kogan, County Warden Allison Gillis, MLA Elizabeth Smith McCrossin and MP Bill Casey. Stuff a Car

Maggie's Place, in partnership with the Amherst Police Department and the Atlantic Superstore will be holding a "Stuff a Car" School Supply Drive on Friday, August 17th from 10am-5:30pm at the Atlantic Superstore. Donations will go directly to helping children and youth of Cumberland County access FREE school supplies. In cooperation with Cumberland Public Libraries, filled backpacks will ne available at library branches throughout the county Aug 27-31, except for the Amherst branch. 53rd Nova Scotia Gem and Mineral Show

3rd Annual Wentworth Show and Shine

The Wentworth learning Center will be hosting the 3rd Annual Wentworth Show and Shine, Sat Aug 19 from 9-3. There will also be a locally made craft market, quilt show and sale, a family fun zone and a blueberry café. There will be raffle draws throughout the day. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for 5-12 year olds and free for those under 5. Proceeds are to the Wentworth learning Center and the Wentworth Volunteer Fire Department.

Bridge Adult Service Center Fashion Show

The 5th annual Bridge Adult Service Center Fashion Show is Thursday August 23  at 6:30 16 Station St. Tickets are $5.00 and will only be available at the door on Fashion Show night. Doors open at 6:00. Clients of the Bridge will be modelling fashions from Bargains at the Bridge.There will be door prizes, a 50/50, silent auction and refreshments.

Sackville Triathlon and Duathlon

The 20th Sackville Triathlon and Duathlon are Saturday August 25. Registration closes Wed Aug 15, with online registration only, at raceroster.com. Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival – Tea

The Sweetest Festival of the Summer, the Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival, is Aug 17-Sept 25, with various events throughout Cumberland County. Sat Aug 25, there will be a Blueberry Tea, at the Brookdale Community Hall from 10-1. There will be sandwiches, assorted Wild Blueberry desserts. There will also be a Quilt and Pillow Prize Draw.
