The Bridge Adult Service Center is holding a Fashion Show, Thursday Aug 24 at 6:30 at 16 Station Street. Bridge clients will doing the modelling. There will be 50/50 draws, sweets and tea or coffee. Admission is $5. For reservations, call 902-667-8433.

The Sackville Street Chalk Art Festival, celebrating Canada’s 150, is Aug 25-26 directly on Bridge Street. Featured artists include traditional Madonnari artist Francois Pelletier and 3-D artist Chalkmaster Dave, but there will be enough chalk for anyone who would like to participate in the Free-For-All area. Amherst Masons are serving Blueberry Breakfast Saturday from 7:30-10:30 at their temple on Lawrence Street. Blueberry pancakes with whipped topping and sausages. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children, with take-outs available.

With the support of Trans Canada Trail and as part of Canada 150, the Cumberland Snowmobile Club is hosting a celebration to mark the end of the Trans Canada Trail, Saturday Aug 26 from 11-1 on the Chignecto Ship Railway Trail. 3504 highway 366 in Tidnish. To celebrate Canada 150+ and the completion of the TransCanada Trail, the Town of Sackville will be holding a Sackville Kite Day Experience and presenting the play “A Complete History of Canada Since Confederation”. Next year will be the 100 anniversary of the Cumberland County Exhibition in Oxford. They would like a new logo for the occasion. It must be on 8.5x11 paper, and represent the best of what exhibition has been over the years.Entries must be in to the office by Monday, August 28th.
