4th Annual Kickin Asphalt Run
VON Cumberland is holding 4th Annual Kickin Asphalt Run on Saturday starting at 8:30 from the corner of Havelock and Victoria. Registration at VON Office 43 Prince Arthur St and the Running Room. For more information, contact Mitchell at 902-667-8796 ext. 2001. Runners can also register the morning of the run. Proceeds support VON Cumberland's charitable programs.

The Town of Amherst Blueberry Harvest Festival is Thursday thru Sunday. Thursday, A&W will be celebrating Burgers to Beat MS, to help Canadians living with multiple sclerosis. This year will donate $2 from each Teen Burger sold to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. You can also participate by rounding up your bill at the register, buy a cutout or other in store activities.

The Sackville Street Chalk Art Festival, celebrating Canada’s 150, is Aug 25-26 directly on Bridge Street. Featured artists include traditional Madonnari artist Francois Pelletier and 3-D artist Chalkmaster Dave, but there will be enough chalk for anyone who would like to participate in the Free-For-All area. Amherst Masons are serving Blueberry Breakfast Saturday from 7:30-10:30 at their temple on Lawrence Street. Blueberry pancakes with whipped topping and sausages. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children, with take-outs available.

With the support of Trans Canada Trail and as part of Canada 150, the Cumberland Snowmobile Club is hosting a celebration to mark the end of the Trans Canada Trail, Saturday Aug 26 from 11-1 on the Chignecto Ship Railway Trail. 3504 highway 366 in Tidnish. The Cumberland Snowmobile Club will be holding a family BBQ.
