May 15-21 is National Police Week. Wednesday May 17 from 10-4, Amherst Police and Cumberland District RCMP are hosting a Police Week Event at the Amherst Center. The event will feature police sections, partner agencies and is open to the public. Madd will have the peddle karts set up to drive for the Madd Kart Challenge. The Cumberland Y’s Strong Kids Ball Hockey Cup is Fri May 19, 10-3 in the Y parking lot. Advanced registration is required. Pick up a form at the Y’s front desk. There are two team categories, 7-10 and 11-14. Each team can have a maximum of 7 players, and the cost is $35 per team. Individuals can register for $7 and be placed on a team. The Tantramar Kennel Club is holding its Annual Dog Show, Sat and Sun May 20 and 21, at the Dr Carson and Marion Murray Community. There will be dogs from all over the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario and the eastern US. Judging begins both mornings at 8.
