The Annual Masonic Auction, is this Saturday at the River Phillip Community Hall. Viewing of the new and used items starts at 10, with the auction starting at 11. If you would like to donate items call Gary at 902-597-2655. There will also door prizes and a 50/50 draw, and the canteen will be open. Sponsored by the Widow’s Son Masonic Lodge #48.

Paws For the Cause is Sat May 13 from 9-1 in the Scotia Room at the Wandlyn Inn. It will feature Halifax’s top booking party band, Monkey’s Uncle. Tickets are $20 an available at Buds to Blossoms. 100 percent of the profits go to the L.A. Animal Shelter. Presented by Two Fools Productions.

There will be a FREE Mother’s Day Brunch, Sun May 14 from 12-2, at the Wentworth Learning Center. They will be serving sausages, bacon, eggs, pancakes and more. Following brunch there will be a country open mic/jamboree. More details on their facebook page, wentworth learning center.

There is a Mother’s Day Turkey Dinner, Sun May 14 at Christ Church Parish Hall from 4-6. The cost is $15 for adults and $7 for those 12 and under. Delivery take-outs will be available from 3:30-4 by calling 902-667-2415 or 902-660-3018. Tickets available at the Church office or at the door.

The Maple Players have provided 35 years of theatre excellence in the town of Oxford. There have been no recent productions. As a not-for-profit organization, they must decide whether we will revive their stage talents once again, or declare the group VOID. May 15-21 is National Police Week. Wednesday May 17 from 10-4, Amherst Police and Cumberland District RCMP are hosting a Police Week Event at the Amherst Center. The event will feature police sections, partner agencies and is open to the public. Madd will have the peddle karts set up to drive for the Madd Kart Challenge. The Amherst First Baptist Church is holding a Lobster Roll Luncheon, Wed May 17 from 11:30-1:30. Potato salad, dessert and beverage are included for $18. Tickets are available at the Church office. Only 100 tickets are being sold.
