CBDC and the Parrsboro District Board of Trade are presenting Students in Business, Thurs Mar 30 at 7 at the Parrsboro Service Center. Find out about training and counselling, and funding programs available to help students start and expand businesses. The annual SMILE walk run will take place this Saturday, April 1 at 10:a.m. in Sackville at the Wallace McCain Student Centre. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. There will be a 5K & 10K run and a 1K fun run for families. Registration is $10 with all proceeds supporting the Cumberland SMILE & SHINE Program

The Sackville Rotary are serving Breakfast Sat Apr 1 starting at 8 at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Center. The cost is $4-$8, with proceeds to support Tantramar Regional High bursaries for graduating students.

The 8th Annual SMILE Walk/Run is Sat Apr 1. Registration is $10 and starts at 9 on the main floor of the Wallace McCain Student Center. The SMILE program is run by Mount Allison students, and the Cumberland SMILE & SHINE Program organization in Amherst. It pairs students from Mount Allison with children and youth in surrounding communities who have special needs. The Mount A Choral Society presents Music: Sacred and Profane, Sun Apr 2 at 3 at Trinity St Stephens United Church. The Choral Society will be joined by a chamber orchestra, the Mount A Brass Quintet and organist Jennifer del Motte. (The major work on the program will be Requiem Mass by Gabriel Faure.) The concert is free.

There’s a Coffee House at the Springhill Salvation Army Sunday starting at 7. Roy Pettigrew will be the musical guest and there will be a lunch afterward. Admission is a free will offering.

The Bagtown Babblers Toastmasters will be holding an Open House, Monday Apr 3 from 7-8:30, at NSCC Springhill, in room 228. Watch how meetings are conducted, and the importance of communication skills for today’s professional. The NSCC Cumberland Business Administration Students are presenting a Spring Market, Wed Apr 5 from 10-2 at the Amherst site. There will be community vendors, a yard sale, BBQ, bake sale, 50/50 draw, live music and campus tours. Check out what NSCC has to offer. The admission is free. Proceeds will go to  NSCC International Learning Program participants.
