Children’s Wish and Krispy Kreme want your help to grant wishes to children with life threatening illnesses, by buying doughnuts. You can place your order at childrenswish.ca/krispykreme before Apr 7. Your doughnuts will arrive fresh on Apr 13 from 7:30-9:30 at McIssac Darragh on Princess St. If you want to avoid the calories, the Dieters Dozen is for you.

There’s a Breakfast Fundraiser Sat Mar 18 from 8-11 at the Amherst Lion's Den. Breakfast includes: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, toast, tea/coffee and juice. Tickets are $7, with all proceeds in support of competitive students of JC's Tae Kwon Do traveling to the Nationals.

After a hugely successful day at Beech Hill in the fall, Operation H.A.L.O. is back to help battle the winter cold, with Winter Survival For Women, March 18 from 11-3 at Beech Hill Park. The Amherst 50+ Club will be holding a Cake and Pie Auction, Sat Mar 18 at 11. There will be delicious homemade cakes and pies of all kinds.

There’s a Pancake Supper, Sat Mar 18 from 3-6 at the Immanuel United Church. They will be serving beans, sausage, and brown bread with the pancakes. The cost is $10 for aults and $5 for children. The supper is sponsored by the Board of Stewards.

Registration for the Early Learning Program, offered through the Early Years Center at West Highland Elementary is on Mar 21 through Mar 31. The program is free and is a play based developmentally appropriate program for 4 year olds. To register, you have to live in the West Highlands catchment area, have a birth certificate and be 4 by Dec 31. The United Way of Cumberland County’s Annual General Meeting is Tue Mar 21 at 5 in the United Way office at 16 Church St Unite 206. Funding for member agencies will be distributed and details of the changing role of the United Way will be presented.
