Curl For Cancer is Friday Feb 17 from 6-midnight at the Amherst Curling Club. There will be two draws, and there’s room for 16 teams. The band Second Toe will play at 9 and there will be a 50/50 and a live auction. For more information, call 902-669-1585.

A Midwinter's Day Dream is a celebration of winter tales featuring six local authors. It’s Saturday, February 18, 2 at the Lions Den in Oxford. Charlie Rhindress, Laurie Glenn Norris, Sara Jewell, Monica Graham, Chris Benjamin and Jennifer McGrath will share their stories about winter. Marilyn Williams will be the host. The event is free and there will be refreshments. Tidewater Books of Sackville, will have a book table.
