Great Amherst Mystery Meeting (General Public)
On behalf of the Town of Amherst Charlie Rhindress will host a second public meeting to discuss ways in which the town might capitalize on its past as the home of The Great Amherst Mystery. This year’s Chilli Willi Winter Carnival in Springhill is Jan 27-Feb 5. There are lots activities for the whole family. African Heritage Month – Making a Kente Cloth
February is African Heritage Month. Join Maggie’s Place and Fallon Mayhew to celebrate by making a Kente Cloth and learning the history behind it. It is Wed Feb 1 from 2:45-4:15 at Maggie’s Place. Join Mount Allison librarian Jeff Lilburn and sociology professor Erin Steuter to discuss how and why Fake News is on the rise. The presentation is Fri Feb 3 at 3:30 in the Library Theatre. They will cover current examples of fake news, why fake news is growing, and how it has political consequences. The session will also give participants tools they can use to identify and debunk fake news.
