Amherst Winter Carnival Events
Amherst and Area Trust is holding a Tea and Tour, of the historic Hewson Home 10 Rupert Street. There are two tours 2-4:30 and 6-8:30. Call 902-660-2873 to book your time. Seating is limited. Admission is a donation. At the Legion, there is a Valentines Hootenanny Dance from 3-7. There will be live music, a 50/50 and door prizes. Admission is a donation at the door

The Tidnish Bridge Fire Department is holding a breakfast, Sunday Feb 16th from 8-11, at the Tidnish Bridge Fire Hall. The cost is $8. The fundraiser supports training, firefighting equipment and helping the community.

Chilli Willi Winter Festival is on today through Friday in Springhill. Among the events today, the 2020 Winter Classics Sticks and Pucks in on 10-1 on the Lions Park Outdoor Surface. Bowling is free as part of the Amherst Winter Carnival. The Heritage Classic is on from 2-4, with the Amherst Ramblers hosting the Miramichi Timberwolves at the Amherst Stadium. The Amherst Recreation Department and the YMCA of Cumberland are offering a new program starting in February. Living Well is a FREE 6 week program exploring health and wellness topics for older adults. Topics include nutrition, gardening/outdoors, staying healthy, mental health and more. The Amherst Royals, and other teams in the Colored Hockey League of the late 19th and 20th Centuries are being recognized by Canada Post as part of African Heritage Month Celebrations.
