Join the Amherst Town Police and Maggie’s Place at the Amherst Superstore Friday Aug 30, for Cram-A-Cruiser. Between 1 and 4, let’s see if we can collect enough school supplies, to fill the Police Cruiser. (Here's what they are looking for: Campfire notebooks, loose leaf, lunch bags, dividers, pencil cases, white out, highlighters, pens, scissors, dry ease markers and rulers.)

It’s the final day of the Cumberland County Exhibition in Oxford and there’s lots of fun left. The Dairy Show is at 10, the Street parade is at 1. There’s Music at the Mall Saturday at the Amherst Center. Andy Melanson will be playing at the Market and Café from 11-1. Evange Landry, Rod Oullette and Neon Moon will play from 1-3. As always there will be a cash draw and door prizes. And there’s great food, with Caribbean, Korean and traditional cuisine at the Café.

International Overdose Awareness Day is Saturday. The Cumberland Opioid Council and Northern Healthy Connections Society present Time to Remember, Time to Act Saturday from 11-2 in Victoria Square. There will be presentations. Local art, resources and Naloxone Training.

Roy Maltby Fundy Hockey School
The 36th Annual Roy Maltby Fundy Hockey School is coming Sept 3-10. The cost is $150 for players and $75 for goalies. Participants will get 10 hours of ice time, including 2 games. Register at rmfhs.ca and follow them on facebook for more details.
