A Family Fishing Derby is Saturday May 25 from 9-1 at the Pumping Station Pond in Broodkdale. Prizes have been donated for longest fish in 3 categories, 8 and under, 9-12 and 13-16, with a grand prize for the longest fish. For more information call the Amherst Recreation Department at 902-667-6500. Bring an extra bag for trash and be careful discarding hooks and glass, because people walk their dogs at the Pumping Station.

The Cumberland Snowmobile Club and the Sutherland’s Lake Trail Groomers Association are holding a Poker Rally, One Mudder of a Run, Saturday. The Sunrise Renwick United Church is holding a Lobster or Ham Take-Out Supper at the church in Amherst Head, Saturday June 1.
