Pancake Breakfast

  There will be a Pancake Breakfast at the Southampton Community Centre on Saturday from 8-11. The cost is $8 adults 5-12 $5 and kids under 5 free.

4th Annual Rod Wilson Memorial Pool Tournament

The 4th Annual Rod Wilson Memorial Pool Tournament is Saturday April 6 at Doolys in Amherst. It’s a Scotch Doubles format, with registration at 12:30 and play at 1. The cost is $30 per team. Proceeds to the Lukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada and the Rod Wilson Memorial Scholarship.

Annual Pancake Supper

The Wallace District Volunteer Fire Department is holding its Annual Pancake Supper on Sunday at the J. Millard Charman Community Hall, Route 6, Wallace. (The supper is really a hearty breakfast of pancakes, maple sausages, beans, buns, biscuits, tea, coffee or juice, and desert.) Doors open at 11:30 and the firefighters and auxiliary members will be serving until 6. Admission is $9 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.

Kim Wry Memorial Bursary

April 11, 2019

The Amherst Zonta Club is accepting applications  for the Kim Wry Memorial Bursary. It’s $1000 and intended for a woman who qualifies as a mature student and is enrolled in a post-secondary program. Application forms are available at the Amherst Post Office or at NSCC Amherst or Springhill. Proof of registration with a recognized institution must be included with your application. Last date to apply is May 31st.

Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign

April 11, 2019 - April 13, 2019

The Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign is April 11-13. Live daffodils will be sold at Sobeys and Superstore in Amherst and Scott’s Your Independent Grocer in Oxford. Volunteers are needed to help sell them. If you have a few hours to spare, contact Julia Corbett at julia.corbett@ns.cancer.ca or go to cancer.ca/daffodil to volunteer.
