WingKids
Wingkids is a professionally developed and unique program based on the modern martial art of Wing Fight. It provides instruction for children between 4 and 11, the fundamentals of self-defense, so they can act in responsive and appropriate ways in an emergency. The Cumberland Health care Foundation, invites you to enjoy a free evening of ice cream, games and music, Wednesday June 19 from 4-7 on the grounds of the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center. The Town of Amherst is reaching out to artists for a Live Graffiti Battle at the Arts Party on Saturday June 20th. The finished pieces will be used help brighten up vacant spaces around town. The art will be on 4X4 wooden panels. Grafitti can range from simple written words to elaborate paintings. Register with the town for a cost of $25.00 and the prize money is winner take all. The Town of Amherst presents Arty Party, Thursday from noon-9:30 on Ratchford Street and the parking lot behind Dayles Grand Market. There will be fine art, artisans, food trucks and live music. Special guest will be Chalkmaster Dave with his 3-D illusions. The Graffiti battle will also be going on, with the winner being announced.

The 10th Anniversary Walk For Autism is Saturday June 22 9:30-1 at the Amherst Curling Club. It’s a family friendly event with events for children, teens and young adults as well as musical entertainment, bouncy castles and more. This Saturday the Town of Sackville will be hosting a Family Bike Ride along the Trans Canada Trail, beginning at the trail opening on Church Street where some light refreshments will be provided prior to the ride. It starts at 10, and participants are welcome to bike as much of the trail as they feel comfortable, whether that be to Station Road or all the way to PEI. All ages welcome.

There’s Music at the Mall this Saturday at the Amherst Center. R.A. and jack will be playing at the entrance to the Artisans Gallery from 11-1, and Drew Moore and Mike Blakeney will entertain at the Market Café from 1-3. And there’s always great food at the Café, now featuring, Jamaican, Korean, and traditional foods.
