Autumn House – Evening of Art

Autumn House will be hosting their annual Evening of Art, Sat Jan 26 at Amherst Regional High. Doors open at 6:30, the Auction starts at 7:30. There will also be draws for artwork as well. Hello Dolly

  The Garnet and Gold Theatre Society at Mount Allison presents, Hello Dolly at Convocation Hall. Performances are Thursday Jan 31 at 8, Fri Feb 1 at 8 and Sat Feb 2, 2 and 8. Tickets are available at the Mount Allison Student Union Building, Jean Coutu and Tidewater Books. Students $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Adults $12 in advance, $15 at the door.

African Heritage Month – Launch

Masonic Breakfast

The Amherst Masons are serving Breakfast Saturday from 7:30-10:30 at their hall on Lawrence Street. They’ll have Eggs, bacon, sausages hash browns and more. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children under 12.

African Heritage Month – Art Exhibit

As part of African Heritage Month, the Cumberland County Museum and Archives will be hosting an Art Exhibit by local artist Darlene Strong, The art is a tribute to Vincent Van Gogh and some of his work. Nine pieces will be on display, Saturday Feb 2 at 2 and Sunday Feb 3 from 10-4. For information call 902-664-7223.

YMCA – Youth STEM Workshop

The YMCA of Cumberland is holding a Youth STEM Workshop Monday Feb 4 from 4-5. Take part in science demonstrations and hands on learning on areas of science, technology, engineering and math. Canada Winter Games – Pep Rally

Two Former students from Spring Street Academy, Jason Melanson and Jake Adams will be representing Nova Scotia at the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer. Spring Street Academy is holding a Pep Rally Monday Feb 4 from 6-7 in the cafeteria. Everyone is welcome to drop in.

It’s African Heritage Month and Monday Feb 4 at 6:30, you are invited to Winter Solstice of Sirens, featuring Jeri Brown, Linda Carvery and the ARHS Jazz Band. It will be at the Susan Taylor Theatre Theatre at Amherst Regional High. Seating is limited. Tickets are $5 in advance at CANSA. At the door they will be $10. Proceeds will support CANSA’s annual scholarships.
