If you live in Sackville, and want to dispose of your Christmas tree, have it curbside for collection the week of Jan 7th. Trees will be will be picked up on your regular garbage day only.If trees are not placed at curbside during pickup week, it is the responsibility of the homeowner to bring their Christmas tree to Public Works, 101 Crescent St. for disposal.

Maggie’s Place has a new program for parents and babies ages 2-9 months. Infant Massage is a 4-week program that focuses on ways to soothe and further bond with your infant, through massage and touch. This program is on Monday afternoons from 1:30 to 2:30 pm from January 7th to January 28th. Space is available,so  call (902) 667-7250 to register.

The Town of Sackville will be holding an update on Phase II of their Lorne Street Storm Water Mitigation Project. Town staff and the engineering consultant leading the project, Crandall Engineering, will be providing an overview of Phase II, which will include final design plans and the anticipated construction schedule associated with a new naturalized stormwater retention pond and associated works in the Lorne Street, St. James Street, Charles Street and Crescent Street areas. Cumberland Public Libraries a new literacy program, Families Exploring Literacy. It’s aim is to give children an introduction to books. The program is open to 2-3 year olds and their parent or caregiver. It’s FREE but requires an 8 week commitment. Space is limited so you must call and register, at 902-667-2135. If you’ve wanted to learn to skate, the Amherst Recreation Department is offering Adult Learn to Skate, Tuesday’s beginning Jan 8 at the Amherst Stadium. It runs from 12:15- 12:45 and it’s free.
